Head of Financial Reporting

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Our client – a dynamic, $17+ billion revenue, NYSE, international, global sciences and technology manufacturing company – seeks a Head of Financial Reporting to join the corporate senior financial management team. The company has an impressive history of growth, both organically and through acquisitions. It anticipates continued growth over the next 3-5 years that will significantly increase company’s annual revenue. Historically, this organization has produced above-average financial results, with its stock outperforming the S&P 500 by a wide margin. The company has an experienced, innovative management team that has promoted impressive annual growth in excess of 25% per year in revenue, EPS, and stock appreciation. The company has a consistent track record of providing outstanding career opportunities to high-potential financial professionals. This opportunity is based in the Washington, DC metro area.

POSITION INFORMATION:

The Head of Financial Reporting will lead the company’s financial reporting function and play a key role in planning, developing, and implementing a variety of key accounting policy programs and initiatives. This person will also assist in maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures to be applied across the global organization, working under the guidance of the Vice President, Finance to ensure that the company complies with all US GAAP and SEC regulations.  Core responsibilities include preparation of 10-Qs and 10-Ks; acting as liaison to the investor relations group to ensure the accuracy of reported financial information; serving as key contact for auditors; and conducting research and consulting on technical accounting/reporting issues as needed.  The Head of Financial Reporting will also be responsible for understanding new accounting pronouncements and evaluating their effect on the company. 

Excellent compensation package consistent with experience level.  The compensation package includes salary and target bonus. If required, relocation support will be provided.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. Must have experience in a public accounting firm, preferably in one of the “Big 4” major accounting firms.
  • Must have experience in SEC reporting and US GAAP accounting for large public companies, preferably companies operating internationally; experience with due diligence and other financial aspects of acquisitions and divestitures required.
  • Successful candidate will be articulate with a professional presence and high intelligence; must be a self-starter and an independent thinker able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Will have strong quantitative and analytical skills as well as excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Will act with the utmost integrity both within the company and in external interactions.
  • Will have superior planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a high-energy, quickly changing and demanding environment.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
