Vice President, Tax

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We have been retained by a NYSE-listed, complex, $10 billion market cap, diversified information management services company with global operations to perform a search for a high-potential Vice President to lead the organization’s tax function.  The Company is an acquisition-oriented, multi-business line, $4 billion revenue industry leader with operations in 47 countries, over 20,000+ employees, and 1,000+ facilities worldwide. Its disciplined M&A strategy has driven shareholder value and expanded business offerings – within the last three years the Company successfully integrated a transformative acquisition that increased its access to high-growth emerging markets while creating greater economies of scale.  As a market leader, it is a sophisticated business with an effective but non-traditional tax REIT structure. The management team is high-quality, experienced, and hands-on and is committed to achieving profitability benchmarks over the next five years.  The Company is headquartered in the Boston, Massachusetts area. 

POSITION INFORMATION:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Tax, this person will be designated to drive tax policy and financial tax reporting and will be involved in tax strategy, tax planning, and initiatives related to international and domestic activities.  The Vice President of Tax will work with senior management to improve the effective tax rate within acceptable levels of risk, improve tax reporting while driving ASC740 / FIN48 processes, and make recommendations to improve process as well as drive change at Corporate.  This is a broad-based role with strong career positioning for the #1 tax position in time. This opportunity is a highly visible position to senior management.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS, preferably in Accounting or Finance; Masters / JD in Tax and / or CPA are preferred.
  • Substantial operational experience within a complex, global enterprise from financial leadership positions that increase in responsibility.
  • Experience in US GAAP accounting for income taxes (ASC740) and current financial reporting trends. Prior Big 4 experience combined with hands-on corporate finance experience strongly preferred.
  • A hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong US and Foreign income tax experience. A detail- and results-oriented professional with a high level of integrity and dependability and a strong sense of urgency. Must possess strong business acumen and common sense.

  • Some REIT exposure highly desirable.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Starting at $200,000.00
