Vice President - Human Resources

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Our client – a growing, entrepreneurial, publicly-traded, acquisition-oriented, real estate operating / investment company – seeks a bright, high-potential, take-charge Vice President to develop and lead the human resources function. Over the next 3 to 5 years the company is growing from 85 employees to 200 employees and expect revenues to double. As the company grows and transforms, the President seeks a business partner to implement human capital initiatives and strategies to support the growing lines of business.  The company anticipates continued growth through acquisitions. The position is located in the Northern Virginia area.

POSITION INFORMATION:

This newly created role reports to the President and will be responsible for developing policies, processes, and programs to support a growing and transforming business.  The Vice President of Human Resources will lead the department in building the trust and confidence of executive management. This is a highly visible position that will lead all areas of human resources, including strategy, M&A integration, organizational development, employee relations, benefits, compliance, compensation programs, HRIS, and 401(k) programs.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR / Human Capital consulting experience supporting executive management and driving business strategy.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Must have the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers and effectively manage outside consultants/brokers.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and prior experience building an HR function.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.  Strong business acumen and common sense.
