COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Our client, a dynamic, NYSE, acquisition-oriented, international, industrial / manufacturing conglomerate, seeks a take-charge professional to join the senior management team of a complex operating business.  The company has an impressive history of growth, both organically and through acquisitions, and it anticipates significant growth in both revenue and earnings over the next 3-5 years.  It has a high-quality, experienced, innovative management team that has led it through impressive annual growth.  The company has a consistent track record of providing outstanding career opportunities to high potential financial professionals.  This opportunity is located in the Chicago area.

POSITION INFORMATION:

Reporting to the Division CFO, this person will be designated as a high-potential performer and will provide strategic financial oversight, accounting expertise and business leadership to the worldwide operating divisions.  This person will be responsible for providing leadership/oversight for all accounting and associated reporting activities for the business.  Additionally, they will provide financial/business advice over operational accounting, technical accounting, revenue recognition, working capital, external/management reporting, worldwide compliance/SOX matters, internal controls, financial and non-financial business process review, business strategy initiatives, and special projects.  This person will have considerable operations exposure not only in providing technical accounting, financial & business expertise to the operating groups, but also will make recommendations to improve profitability and process.  We are seeking a high-potential performer who can be promoted within three years, potentially to a CFO position.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS, preferably in Accounting; MBA preferred. CPA required.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience which includes managing, leading and mentoring staff. Prior Big 4 experience required, preferably as a Manager. Knowledgeable in US GAAP and current financial reporting trends.  
  • Prior manufacturing/industrial industry experience/exposure required. Prior experience to companies with international operations required.
  • A hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong financial and analytical skills.  Detail-oriented and able to work within a matrix management structure.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.  Strong business and common sense.

Compensation: Excellent compensation package consistent with experience level.  The compensation package includes salary, target bonus and a meaningful annual equity grant. If required, comprehensive full relocation package will be provided.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
