Assistant Controller

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We have been retained by a $350 mil revenue, innovative, private equity-backed, rapidly growing professional services company to search for a high potential, financial professional to be the Assistant Corporate  Controller. The company has a highly respected, experienced, innovative leadership team and are well-positioned  for continued success, growth and expansion both in the US and internationally. The company has been recognized by numerous organizations including The New York Times for its innovative business model which is making a significant impact on their industry.  This entrepreneurial company is looking for a high-potential accounting professional to join the team to support and lead the global accounting function. This position will be located in Manhattan in a desirable area. The company culture is fast paced, progressive, entrepreneurial, and fun.  

POSITION INFORMATION:

In this newly created position, this, hands-on, high-potential professional will have ownership over global accounting operations and will be the right-hand to the Vice President-Controller as well as the CFO. This person will manage global team and will have ownership over the close / consolidation process, accounts receivable, accounts payable, ensure US GAAP compliance, prepare/review monthly/quarterly financial statements, internal controls, payroll, make suggestions regarding process improvement and execute on various special project initiatives. The Assistant Controller will be the main point of contact with the Big 4 auditors and other internal groups. This person should be a strong manager, leader, effective communicator, and be career focused/driven. 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant corporate experience, preferably in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Career-motivated and desire to work in an entrepreneurial company.  
  • Knowledgeable about US GAAP and current financial reporting trends.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to be hands-on.
  • Ability to work across functions and provide support to executives and other leaders.
  • High degree of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred. 

 

Compensation: Excellent compensation package including competitive base salary and bonus. If needed, relocation will be provided.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
