Chief Financial Officer

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We are exclusively retained by one of the most recognized and highly regarded mid-sized real estate companies in the Mid-Atlantic region in their search for a Chief Financial Officer.  This person will be a highly visible leader of the organization, as well as a valuable business partner to the Founder & Chief Executive Officer.  The company has been in existence for over 35 years and has an outstanding history and track record of building ultra-luxury residential real estate with a commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and success.   The company has three individual lines of business, which are going through rapid growth and expansion over the next 3-5 years.  Their clients include some of the nation’s wealthiest and most prominent individuals.  It is an exciting time period for the company, and their culture is entrepreneurial, rewarding, and best-in-class.  They are constantly thinking “outside the box” to differentiate themselves from competitors in the marketplace.

POSITION INFORMATION:

This is a critical role for the company where this person will be the right-hand and key business partner to the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of the company.  While the CEO’s major focus and responsibility is on business development and external relationships, the Chief Financial Officer will be a highly visible leader for the internal organization and business segments.  The CFO will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the financial function of the company, as well as assessing and implementing best practices across all functional areas.  This person, along with the CEO, will direct and monitor the strategic direction of the company, and will have a significant breadth and depth of responsibility.  This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribution to a highly regarded, successful company.   

Compensation:  Excellent compensation program including base salary, incentive bonus and equity participation. 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience; prior experience in real estate and/or construction preferred.  CPA desired.
  • Team-oriented with excellent management skills.  This person will need to continue to develop the staff and improves processes as the company grows.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to be strategic, but also hands-on when needed in order to drive change and create improvement.
  • Ability/enjoyment to work in an entrepreneurial environment.  Strong analytical skills as well good business judgment and common sense.  Solid problem solving skills.
  • Impeccable integrity, diligence, and work ethic.  This person will need to service multiple business lines and must focus on Company results first.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
