Development Associate- Prestigious Commercial Real Estate Owner/Developer

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We have been retained by one of the most prestigious, prominent commercial real estate owners/developers in the metro Washington D.C. area.  The company is looking for a bright, high potential individual to join their development team.  For the past 20 years, the company has focused on value creation across all asset classes, including office, multi-family, retail, hotel, and land held for development.  The company has completed over $4.7B of transactions in the DC area, achieving exceptional returns.  The portfolio is currently over 3.5M square feet, and will rapidly grow to over 5M square feet upon the upcoming completion of a major mixed-use development project.  The executive management team is highly reputable and widely recognized for being strategic, innovative, and entrepreneurial.  The company is well-positioned for continued success and expansion and they have an outstanding culture that is positive, motivated, and team-oriented. 

POSITION INFORMATION:

In this newly created role, this person will be reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Development, who has an incredible career background and is an excellent mentor.  This person will have the unique opportunity to work on iconic, nationally recognized, high-end, complex development and repositioning projects in the DC metro area.  This person will be instrumental in the daily development activities for these projects, including planning, permitting, preparing presentation and investor reports, as well as communicating and coordinating with project teams (architects, engineers, etc.), through construction execution.  Given the collaborative work environment, this person will also have excellent interaction with multiple areas of the company, including leasing, acquisitions, asset management, and accounting.  This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact to a highly reputable, best-in-class organization, coupled with excellent career pathing on a long-term basis.

Compensation

 

Excellent compensation package, including competitive base salary, bonus, and strong benefits.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
  • 3-5 years of relevant commercial real estate or construction project management experience.
  • Exposure to multifamily product type desired.  Alternatively, office, hotel, and/or retail experience required. 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.  Given the exposure and visibility this person will have, the successful candidate should have excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively allocate time between multiple tasks, deadlines, and opportunities.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
