Accounting Manager


Our client, a prominent private-equity backed real estate owner/developer, is currently seeking a talented, high-potential professional to join their team as Accounting Manager for their multifamily portfolio.  Since its inception over 40 years ago, the company has an impressive history and track record of developing, owning, repositioning, and managing complex, quality commercial office and multifamily projects in the Washington, DC metro area.  They have assembled an excellent pipeline of current and future projects and are well positioned for continued growth and expansion.  This is a critical role for the organization, and it is an excellent opportunity that offers leadership responsibilities in a company with outstanding results, and a positive, team-oriented, forward-thinking culture.


Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this person will be responsible for the oversight of all accounting activities for the multifamily portfolio, which includes existing assets as well as projects under development.  This is an excellent opportunity to manage the full life-cycle accounting process from development planning through lease-up, including monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, investor reporting and asset management.  The company seeks a responsible, motivated professional who has the ability to oversee accounting on multiple assets and a growing portfolio.  Additionally, this person will need to maintain a big picture, strategic mindset while having the ability to be hands-on when necessary.  This is an outstanding company, and the position will have significant interaction and exposure to their highly reputable executive management. 

Compensation: Excellent compensation package including competitive base salary and annual bonus.


  • Minimum 5 years of related experience with at least 3 years in multifamily real estate accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in accounting; CPA preferred.
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • Self-direction, diplomacy, and analytical thinking with courteous and professional manor when dealing with people.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a positive attitude.
