COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We are exclusively retained by our client, an incredibly dynamic, international, innovative, acquisitions-oriented company on a search for a bright, high-potential experienced tax professional. Backed by some of the most prominent private-equity firms, this company has an excellent history and track record of success, and continues to go through incredible growth both organically and through acquisition.  The executive management team has an outstanding reputation on a national basis, and are known for hiring and retaining highly talented individuals while driving the business and their employees to continued success.  The company has been instrumental in shaping the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry with a revenue of approximately $500M and 2,000 employees, and anticipate significant growth in the next 3-5 years.  The company culture is top-notch, collaborative, forward-thinking, with employees who are driven, quality-oriented, and humble.  The company is located in a highly desirable metro-accessible location in the Washington, DC metro area.

POSITION INFORMATION:

This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, who has a great reputation and is an excellent mentor.  This is a critical and unique role in that they are looking for a well-versed, technically strong tax professional who can further develop and lead the tax function.  This is a broad, complex position that will encompass a blend of global tax planning, strategy, compliance, policy, as well as tax financial reporting and technical accounting, including the global tax provision. This person will also have the opportunity to be exposed to and involved in mergers, acquisitions, and special projects as the company goes through continued growth and expansion.  This person will need an excellent technical skillset, as well as the ability to communicate and lead effectively with internal management and external vendors.  As the right-hand to the SVP, this person will also be vital to improving processes and financial/ERP systems, and will be able to take on additional responsibilities with time and have exposure to various functional areas.

Compensation: Excellent compensation package including competitive base, bonus, strong benefits, and potential equity. 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Accounting or related field.  CPA required.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of relevant, progressive tax experience. Current/Previous Big 4 or second tier public accounting firm highly preferred.
  • A hands-on, self-motivated tax professional with strong technical and analytical skills. 
  • Work in a cohesive corporate headquarters environment with a senior management team that is interested in growth and driving change.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills along with the ability to manage multiple priorities.  Solid team orientation and work ethic.
  • Career-motivated, dedicated, committed leader.
  • Highest level of ethics, integrity, and common sense.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
