Executive Vice President  Head of Hotel Division

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We have been retained by a highly successful, acquisition-oriented, well-capitalized real estate owner/developer headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area to search for a professional to lead and manage a newly created Hotel Division.  In addition to an established mixed-use portfolio of quality assets, the company also has significant, transit-oriented mixed-use projects under development in the DC metro area, totaling over 6 million square feet.  They are currently seeking a strategic, forward-thinking real estate business partner who can successfully lead the asset management, development, and oversight of their growing hotel portfolio, comprised of luxury-class, unique assets in highly desirable locations.  The company is going through meaningful growth over the next 3-5 years and this person will be instrumental in managing and growing the hotel portfolio, along with developing the strategy/vision for the division and executing on the plan successfully.  The company culture is positive, entrepreneurial, forward-thinking, quality-oriented, and innovative.  This is a unique, special opportunity to join a well-capitalized company as they go through an exciting period of growth, expansion, and development.        

POSITION INFORMATION:

Reporting directly to the CEO/Chairman, this newly created position will be part of the executive leadership team, as well as having significant interaction/exposure to the Board, investors, JV partners, and real estate leaders in the marketplace.  They are looking for an entrepreneurial, high-potential professional with hospitality experience to further formulate the development and asset management strategy for an impressive hotel portfolio currently under development and in the pipeline.  The successful candidate will understand how to manage and supervise both hotel operators and franchisors, and will have a sophisticated and opportunistic approach to commercial real estate.  This person will have broad exposure to all functional areas of the company, and be able to source opportunistic operating and development projects.  The company values high-potential, results-oriented individuals and they have a track record of providing excellent, long-term career growth for motivated, talented, and loyal professionals.

Compensation: Excellent compensation package including salary, incentive bonus, and annual equity grants. Outstanding benefits with state of the art offices/work environment, including on-site daycare. If needed, relocation assistance will be provided.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Hotel Management or another related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in hotel asset management and/or development.
  • Hands-on leader who can also manage and develop high performing development/asset management teams. Results oriented. Enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, performance based real estate business. 
  • Proven ability to establish, articulate and promote a real estate strategic vision, strategic plans, initiatives and goals across project teams and key stakeholders along with executing on the plan. The successful candidate will be recognized for their energy, leadership, entrepreneurial skills and ability to coach / motivate team members.
  • Preference for experience with luxury, high-quality hotel brand, either working for an owner, developer, or advisor.
  • Ability to build relationships: must be able to establish and manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
