Director/Senior Director-Finance Operations / Shared Services

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

We have been retained by a prominent, international, private equity-backed technology, electronic documentation, and professional services company to search for a high potential professional to manage and lead financial operations for the company and develop/implement the creation of a Shared Services operations group.  Headquartered in Washington, DC, the company has experienced continued growth and success due to excellent leadership and strategic, meaningful acquisitions.  With revenues expected to increase to almost $1B over the next year, this is a meaningful, progressive, complex organization with a forward-thinking, innovative, thoughtful senior management team that has created a positive, collaborative culture. POSITION INFORMATION:

In this newly created position, this person will report to the CFO, who has an impressive background and excellent reputation.  They are looking for an intelligent leader who can lead and manage processes and systems to improve financial operations, lead multiple financial transformation projects and organize/develop a Shared Services group of up to 80 people over time (this will include various financial and operational/administrative areas including billing, collections, cash applications, and the PMO). Identify, plan and execute special projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness which will drive better reporting to customers and internal stakeholders.  This person will set the standards of excellence and make significant improvements to processes, efficiencies, technology, and talent management.  This person will be a creative, innovative problem solver who can handle complex issues and drive meaningful change.  Additionally, this person will be an important facilitator of the company’s positive culture to their group as well as the company.  They are looking for a forward-thinking professional who can make a significant, positive impact to the group and the company.

Compensation: Excellent compensation package includes competitive base salary, annual bonus, and potential future equity participation. Strong benefits package.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive relevant financial transformation/change management experience in a related industry, with 3-5 years of management/leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferable in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related area. 
  • This person must be a hands-on progressive leader who is a forward-thinking problem solver with high standards of excellence.
  • Blend of financial operational consulting and corporate experience with prior financial process improvement/change management experience within the financial operations/shared services space highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in PE-backed or similar fast-paced/acquisition-oriented, continually improving environments.
  • A demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex challenges through critical thinking and requiring cross-functional collaboration. Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team.
  • Ability to drive and influence change in a respectful manner with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in talent development (hiring, training, and mentoring). 
  • Ability to gain the trust and confidence of others quickly, and lead by example.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
