Senior Financial / Accounting Associate

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Our client is an entrepreneurial, energy-focused private equity firm headquartered in the DC area. The company's proven strategy has a broad focus across several target energy markets. The leadership has extensive expertise in the power industry, and its principals have worked at leading energy-focused institutions and top-tier financial institutions. The company is well positioned to continue its rapid growth through acquisition and optimization, and is expected to remain a stalwart competitor in the space. The company is looking to expand the financial leadership in its DC-area, Metro-accessible, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters as the organization continues to grow.

POSITION INFORMATION:

Reporting to the Assistant Controller & CFO, in this newly created financial / accounting role, the Senior Associate will be responsible for all the accounting and financial reporting and analysis activities for multiple assets within the company’s portfolios. This person will also take on responsibilities for additional assets with future acquisitions. The entrepreneurial nature of the company will provide opportunities to be involved with other areas of the finance team such as treasury, process creation, and accounting policy, as well as innovative projects and special initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and an ability to learn quickly, as well as be an excellent communicator. There may be some opportunity for travel when appropriate. This position has been benchmarked for high caliber talent and will provide significant upward career mobility and opportunities within the organization.

Compensation: Excellent compensation package including salary and incentive bonus.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of accounting experience within a corporate or other operational setting and/or a Big 4 or another reputable public accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with financial systems.
  • Experience with growing multi-location businesses preferred.
  • Keenly reliable self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute in a collaborative environment.
  • Positive attitude, high level of intellectual curiosity combined with a ‘results-driven’ mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL CASH COMPENSATION: Contingent Upon Experience.
