COMPANY BACKGROUND: We have been retained by a rapidly growing, venture-backed, international energy technology company that seeks a hands-on Director of Operations to join their senior management team. The company is headquartered in the Metro Washington DC area and has a solid business plan that targets both domestic and international markets to provide the most innovative wireless technology within the smart grid industry. The company has assembled an innovative senior management team with strong operational and industry backgrounds. The company is in the beginning of its growth cycle and estimates revenue growth to exceed $100 million within the next five years. The senior management team is highly experienced while the company culture is goal-oriented, fast paced, and characteristic of an early stage, entrepreneurial technology-oriented organization.
POSITION INFORMATION: This position reports to the COO/SVP-Operations. The company seeks a bright, enthusiastic, high-energy, hands-on professional who is motivated and dedicated to quality to create a progressive, innovative Ops/Supply Chain group. Individuals need experience with inventory management, cost containment practices and experience developing “Best Practice" procurement processes. There will be high visibility and exposure in this role along with strong career progression. Specifically, the position is responsible for developing new processes, approaches and tools that will continually drive improvements on inventory management and quality assurance. Additional responsibilities include: evaluating existing inventory management processes, managing vendor relationships and negotiating contract agreements. Candidates who can operate on a global level and provide creative solutions are highly desired.
Compensation: Our client is willing to customize a compensation package that will include a base salary, cash bonus, and long-term equity component that will reward short-term and long-term success.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline (technical preferred), and/or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Minimum 8 years operations work experience
- Prior experience with large, process-driven sophisitcated companies preferred
- Strong understanding of SAP preferred.
- Exposure to technology-manufacturing related industries or experience with companies with inventoried manufactured parts preferred.
- Take charge, team-oriented, strategic, hands-on professional who enjoys challenges and developing new processes.
