COMPANY BACKGROUND: We have been retained by acquisition-oriented, dynamic $10+ billion revenue, NYSE, international conglomerate to search for a take-charge, hands-on professional to join their growing Corporate Development group. The company has a market capitalization in excess of $20+ billion, has an impressive history of growth both organically and through acquisitions, and anticipates significant growth over the next 3-5 years. The company is very transactions oriented and is recognized as a market leader in their industry with regards to executing a successful acquisition and integration strategy.
Historically, this organization has produced above average financial results, with its stock outperforming the S&P 500 by a wide margin. The company has a high quality, experienced, innovative management team, which has led the company over the last 10 years through impressive annual growth in revenue, EPS and stock appreciation. The company has a consistent track record of providing outstanding career opportunities to high potential financial professionals. The position is located in the Metro Washington, DC area.
POSITION INFORMATION: In this newly created position, this person will be a key member of the team responsible for merger and acquisition activities. Position responsibilities include market assessment, due diligence, valuation and negotiation of acquisitions, contract review, and transaction execution. This person will work closely on both overall corporate strategy and collaborate with business operations and corporate team members in all aspects of a transaction. Some travel required (approximately 20%).
The Corporate Development group is comprised of top quality, high potential professionals with prior experience in investment banking and private equity. People in this group are exposed to all aspects of the acquisition and due diligence process and receive challenging, diverse, interesting experience. This is a highly visible role with exposure to both internal and external senior level people.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: · BS, preferably in Finance; MBA or JD highly preferred
· Minimum 5 years of acquisition/transaction related experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
· Strong quantitative and analytical due diligence skills.
· Excellent writing skills and effective negotiation skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at multiple levels
· Enjoy working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment
Compensation: Excellent compensation package which includes salary, annual bonus and equity participation. If needed, full relocation will be provided.
